Unconditional love is not something that can be achieved overnight. A lot of time and effort has to be invested in order to establish it. I don't believe there is a Mr. or Mrs. Right but I do believe there is a perfect match for every individual....it's a matter of finding our right match. Love is for those who believe in it....you will only discover it if you believe in it and are willing to exercise the patience to find it and invest the time you'll need to recognize it. It is a Christ-like love. It emphasizes on giving, not taking. It does not seek to fulfill its own selfish gratification. It has no ulterior motives. It is established in the roots of friendship. Until you understand the principle of loving, you'll never find it. Yes, there are superficial alternatives. Yes, sometimes we mistake it for the real thing but the difference is...the real thing withstands the test of time. Additionally, intimacy is the reward of commitment. No one has the right to demand or expect emotional, psychological, or physical intimacy unless they are willing to commit. Until recently I never understood or took seriously the statement, "If he/she loves you enough, he/she will wait..." Think about it, if this statement was used as a measuring tool to determine the depth of one's love, how many of us would pass? Now ask yourself this question, Are you willing to elevate your standards?
